About Project Goo

Established in 2009, Project GOO was the official embodiment of decades of work by founder Hinton “Goo” Battle. Project GOO is a socially conscious enterprise that:

  • Advances economic impact through the teaching of entrepreneurship to youth and young adults

  • Champions cause and organizational awareness through marketing and promotional product creation

  • Sponsors annual food programs in targeted cities throughout the southeast

  • Supports educational advancement through the provision of annual scholarships

  • Facilitates workshops focused on community development, including educational training on social issues and personal health

To date, Project GOO has extended over $20,000 in scholarship funding and fed 60K+ people through its feeding initiatives.

About Hinton "Goo" Battle

Hinton Battle

Hinton “Goo” Battle is a humanitarian and social entrepreneur with a passion for community outreach. Since 1981, Goo has leveraged his enterprising nature into establishing a number of businesses since learning the framework of entrepreneurship as an apprentice at a thriving construction company. He is recognized as an exemplary citizen, trustworthy community leader and business consultant with an affinity for building relationships. Goo’s commitment to helping families and communities thrive has been the cornerstone of his life’s work and support of others.

Born and raised in Fort Myers, Florida, Goo has called Tallahassee home since attending college and playing football at Florida State University. Goo is also an active supporter of Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) with a connection to many of its programs and initiatives. 

 

Goo is father to four adult children and has six grandchildren. He is an avid traveler and music lover.
